This bridle comes in size Full, which suits an average to large horse's head. If your horse has a fine head, first measure the headpiece and noseband of your current bridle and compare, or ask us to check for you.

Fit the flash strap looser than the noseband itself. Keep about two fingers of room under the noseband; fasten the flash strap so that it supports the bit without pulling the mouth shut. Check that it sits neatly in the chin groove and does not end up on the soft part of the nose. With a curved browband it pays to check that the curve really does stay clear of the base of the ears.

For care: wipe away sweat and sand after riding, clean regularly with saddle soap and finish with leather balm or leather oil. On a bridle with contrast stitching, use only a little product at a time and buff it out carefully, so no residue is left in the blue stitching. Let wet leather dry at room temperature and hang the bridle on a wide bridle rack.

Choose Blue Rock if you want a clean black bridle with a small, personal accent, and if you are looking for a combined noseband with flash strap. It suits riders who train daily and want to use the same bridle at competitions, in dressage as well as jumping.

If you want a completely neutral bridle without a colour accent, a classic black or brown model from our range makes more sense. If you are after a grackle or a drop noseband, this model does not offer that. And if you ride a pony or a horse with a fine head, this bridle will not work for you: it only comes in Full.
