BR Andover Bridle

We offer this bridle in size Full, the usual size for an average warmblood head. A wide noseband does ask for some attention when you adjust it: it has to sit high enough to keep the cheekbone clear and low enough not to rub against the protruding edge of the nasal bone. Look at that deliberately when you fit it.

Adjust the noseband with two fingers of room between the strap and the nasal bone. The flash strap closes below the bit and is never tighter than the noseband itself. Check that the V-shaped loop with its flap lies neatly flat.

Patent leather is cared for differently from ordinary leather. Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it off with a soft cloth; do not use leather oil or heavy grease on it, because those do not soak into the patent coating and leave streaks behind. The rest of the leatherwork you clean with a mild leather soap and feed periodically with a leather balm. Around the crystals you work dry. Store the bridle in a bag or under a cover.

The Andover suits riders who compete in the ring and want a bridle that looks polished and is thoughtfully built at the same time. Thanks to the anatomic shape and the wide noseband, it works just as well in daily training as at a competition.

If you are looking for a plain working bridle without decoration and without patent leather, a classic model from our range is easier to maintain. If you deliberately ride without a flash strap, choose a model with a noseband only. And if you want reins straight away, look at a bridle that is supplied with reins included.
