HFI Bridle Monza

Before you order, measure your horse's existing bridles: the length of the noseband and of the cheekpiece say more than the size name alone. We offer the Monza as standard in Full.

First adjust the headpiece and the cheekpieces so that the bit sits quietly in the mouth, and only then adjust the noseband and the flash strap. Do not fasten the flash strap tighter than the noseband itself: it is meant to stabilise the bit, not to hold the mouth shut. If you prefer to ride without a flash strap, you convert the noseband into a French noseband.

New leather is a little stiffer during the first rides. Rub the bridle with a thin layer of leather balm and let it soak in. After every ride, wipe away sweat and sand with a damp cloth, clean the leather weekly with saddle soap and condition it afterwards. Never let leather dry near a heater or in full sun, and store the bridle on a wide hook so the headpiece keeps its shape.

The Monza suits the rider looking for a complete leather bridle for daily training and competition, with attention to pressure distribution and a classic appearance. Because the reins are included, it is a logical choice when you want a full set in one go.

If you are expressly looking for a bridle with a grackle noseband, a drop noseband or a crank noseband, you are better off looking at another model within our range. Likewise, if you only need a bridle because you already have reins you like riding with, a model without reins is often more logical.

How do I care for the leather?

What is the chin pad for?
It sits between the flash strap and the chin and makes sure the strap lies flat instead of in a narrow line.
