Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The HB Showtime Dark Eagle competition numbers are competition numbers set with Swarovski stones, for riders who want their competition kit neatly finished. You attach them with a pin or with a leather tab and press stud, either to the bridle or to the saddle. That is a practical difference from plain synthetic numbers: you decide yourself where the number sits and how it is held. It lets you wear the compulsory competition number clearly visible, in a finish that matches the rest of your competition look.
About these competition numbers
The choice of two ways of attaching them is what sets this model apart. With the pin you fix the number in place; with the leather tab and press stud you clip it on. You can therefore match the attachment to where you want to carry the number and to your own competition kit.
The numbers are intended to display the compulsory identification or competition number clearly during competitions. They can be attached to the bridle as well as to the saddle. That keeps the model flexible when the organiser, or your own preference, decides where the number needs to be most visible.
The finish with Swarovski stones gives the Dark Eagle version a more luxurious look than plain synthetic competition numbers. They therefore suit riders who look not only at function at a competition, but also at a neat, coherent presentation of horse and rider.
Within the HB Showtime collection, the Dark Eagle numbers were drawn to go with the HB Showtime bridle 342. If you like to keep your accessories in the same style, that is a logical pairing.
Competition numbers have no effect on the fit or the working of the bridle or the saddle, but they do have to be attached firmly and correctly. Before you warm up and before you go in, check that the number is secure and stays readable.
If you are looking for a presentable competition number with a finish that stands out, you are in the right place. If you want a very understated competition look, or would rather leave decorative stones out of it, choose a plainer competition number.
