Utzon Grand Prix Bridle

This bridle is offered in size Full, the usual size for an average warmblood head. If in doubt, compare the lengths of your current bridle instead of going by the size name, because that differs from brand to brand.

If you want to use the flash strap, hang it so that it rests under the bit and not on it, and fasten it looser than the noseband. If you leave it off, check that the cheekpieces and the noseband still sit stable without the flash strap as a guide.

Treat the leather with a thin layer of balm before first use and repeat that during the first weeks. After that, a damp cloth after every ride is enough, plus a clean with mild leather soap followed by leather balm every few weeks. Store the bridle on a wide bridle rack, not on a nail: that keeps the curve of the headpiece in shape.

You choose the Grand Prix when you want one bridle to use in daily training as well as at competitions, with a wide anatomical headpiece and the freedom to use the flash strap or not. It suits dressage, jumping and eventing.

If you are looking for a bridle with a decorative accent, a model with a decorated browband from our range is more attractive. If you ride with gold-coloured fittings on the rest of your equipment, choose a bridle with brass buckles. And if your horse has a smaller or a much larger head than average, let us look at the size with you, because this model is offered in Full.

The flash strap is removable. If you use it, let it rest under the bit and fasten it looser than the noseband; if you leave it off, check that the cheekpieces and noseband still sit stably. Reins are not included.

How do I care for the leather?
Wipe away sweat and sand after every ride, clean regularly with mild leather soap and then feed the leather with balm. Let it dry at room temperature.

How does this differ from an ordinary bridle?
Mainly in the wide, pre-shaped headpiece, the anatomically cut noseband and the vegetable-tanned leather.
