Count on vegetable-tanned leather needing time. In the first weeks it feels firmer than you are used to. Clean it after every use and treat it with saddle soap, and it will gradually become supple. What you should not do is force the process with a lot of grease at once: greasing too heavily makes vegetable-tanned leather soft and dull.

When fitting, look at both straps separately. Fasten the noseband so that you can still get two fingers underneath. The flash strap below it should stay looser than the noseband itself. If it sits too tight, it will pull the bit up instead of stabilising it. If you ride without a flash strap, take it off the bridle completely instead of letting it dangle.

Store the bridle on a wide hook. On a narrow nail or a rein hook a permanent kink marks itself into the headpiece, and it is exactly that headpiece that has to lie flat to keep its ergonomic shape.

This is a good choice when you want a classic leather bridle that lasts a long time and that you can use flexibly, with or without a flash strap. Riders who look after their tack and who appreciate the character of vegetable-tanned leather get the most out of it.

If you want a bridle that feels soft from day one and asks for little breaking-in time, a model with differently tanned leather from our range suits you better. If you are looking for outspoken decorative details or patent leather for the arena, this model is kept too plain for that. And if you have a large or wide head, look instead at a model that is also supplied in X-Full.
