Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.

Rugs

How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.

Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.

The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

The Eskadron Sparkle Crystal saddle pad from the Dynamic Collection 2026 combines a sparkling top material and a crystal corded binding with practical features for everyday use: an antibacterial lining, anti-slip silicone at saddle level and a girth loop with three attachment options. Available for dressage, jumping and pony dressage.

About this saddle pad

The Eskadron Sparkle Crystal saddle pad is clearly made to be seen. The outside is made in a sparkling top material that catches the light and gives the pad a subtle shine, without shining like a mirror. The characteristic quilting gives it structure, and along the edge runs a crystal corded binding that finishes the whole. On the back sits the Eskadron lettering, complemented by the usual brand details.

Underneath that eye-catching top sits a pad that simply keeps up with the daily routine. On the inside Eskadron uses an antibacterial lining. That is the side that lies against your horse, so it is worked out functionally and not merely decoratively, which counts for a pad you put under the saddle several times a week.

At saddle level there is anti-slip silicone. That silicone structure helps keep the pad stable under the saddle, so it does not start to slide when you work at a brisker pace. The girth loop has three attachment options: you choose yourself which position best suits your girth and the way your saddle sits. That makes the pad usable on more than one saddle.

This combination of a functional underside, an anti-slip zone and an adjustable attachment makes the Sparkle Crystal more than just a decorative competition or schooling pad. There are versions for dressage (DL), jumping (VS) and pony dressage (PD), and the pad is available in powder taupe, navy and lipstick. An Eskadron keyring is supplied with the saddle pad.

When you saddle up, try out the three positions of the girth loop before you settle on one. The right position depends on exactly where your girth runs and on the shape of your saddle; with the right setting the pad does not pull crooked and the anti-slip zone stays precisely under the saddle.

After riding, let the pad dry completely before you store it and brush out dried hair and sand. Be careful around the crystal corded binding: do not comb or brush roughly over it, so the binding stays looking good. The Sparkle Crystal is a choice for riders who deliberately go for a polished, eye-catching finish at a show or in schooling, but do not want to give up stability under the saddle. Thanks to the pony dressage version, it is also usable for young riders who want the same look.

If you are looking for a strictly sober, plain pad for a classic dressage test, a classic quilted saddle pad from our range is the more logical choice. Anyone mainly after cushioning under the saddle is better off looking at a more thickly padded model. Before a competition, always check the rules of your discipline and federation regarding permitted versions.
