Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.

Rugs

How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.

Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.

The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information

The Eskadron Silk Jewel saddle pad from the Dynamic Collection 2026 is a quilted saddle pad with a matt silk surface, voluminous quilting and an antibacterial-treated underside. You choose it in a version for dressage, jumping or pony dressage. It is intended for riders who want a smart, tone-on-tone look with practical attachment under the saddle.

About this saddle pad

The Eskadron Dynamic 26 Silk Jewel saddle pad is available in three versions: dressage (DL), jumping (VS) and pony dressage (PD). That lets you match the model to your saddle and your discipline, and it is usable for a horse as well as for a pony in dressage. The shape of the pad differs per version, so that it falls correctly under the matching saddle.

The top side is made in a matting silk surface. That gives a smooth, smart appearance without pronounced shine, which makes the pad more understated than a highgloss model. The voluminous quilting creates the relief that makes the Silk Jewel recognisable and gives the pad body under the saddle. A cord binding runs along the edge, combined with the Jewel cord binding: a decorative finish that is clearly present but sits neatly within the tone-on-tone design.

On the horse's side, Eskadron opted for an antibacterial-treated underside. In the section under the saddle, anti-slip silicone is applied. This limits movement between the saddle pad and the saddle and helps keep everything in place while riding, which counts especially in more active work.

The attachment is worked out just as practically. At the front, the Innostrap system offers various ways to fix the pad to the saddle, and the girth loop has three attachment points with which you match the fixing to your equipment. You will also find Eskadron details on both sides, lettering on the back section and labelling on either side. An Eskadron keyring is supplied with the saddle pad.

The model comes in powder taupe, navy and lipstick. Powder taupe stays understated, navy is classic and dark, and lipstick clearly brings more colour into your equipment.

First choose the right version: DL for a dressage saddle, VS for a jumping saddle and PD when you ride a pony in dressage. A pad in the wrong cut sticks out from under the flaps and starts to slip, even if the rest of the attachment is correct.

Then use the three attachment points of the girth loop to match the tension neatly to your own saddle and girth. When saddling up, pull the pad well into the gullet, so the silicone under the saddle keeps everything in place. For a calm overall look, match the colour to your ear bonnet and polo wraps: powder taupe and navy stay neutral, lipstick asks for restraint in the rest of your equipment.

This saddle pad suits riders who want a decoratively finished pad that still stays understated. The matt silk surface and the tone-on-tone cord binding make it suitable for competition and training, in dressage as well as jumping, and with the PD version also for pony riders in dressage.

If what you want is a distinctly glossy pad, a highgloss model from our range is better placed. If you ride mainly outdoors in wet weather, a pad with a water-repellent softshell top fabric is better matched to that use. And if you ride a pony in jumping, this range is less suitable: the pony version exists only in the dressage shape.

Lay the pad on the back and, when saddling up, pull it well into the gullet, so the silicone under the saddle keeps everything in place. At the front you attach it with the Innostrap system. On the girth loop, choose from the three attachment points the one that best matches the tension to your own saddle and girth.
