For ordinary winter work you choose an A2F/AC at 1.4 mm; for a dirty or muddy coat a CA2/AC with 18 teeth works more pleasantly. For clipping the head, legs and belly the slim body is an advantage too, because you turn the machine into a corner more easily.

If you clip a string of horses in a row in one day, the Lister Fusion gives you more in hand: 360 watts, two speeds and no charging time, but with a cord. For anyone clipping one or two horses a winter with no need to work cordless, the Lister Star is the simplest alternative. For fine finishing of the ears and the bridle path you are better off with a compact machine such as the Heiniger Saphir Basic.

How long can I clip on one battery?
Up to 130 minutes. In practice that gets you a full clip, and often two horses.

Can I clip a whole horse with the Eclipse?
Yes. The Eclipse is intended for full clips and not only for detail work.

Is the Eclipse quiet enough for a young horse?
Lister states 72 dB(A). That is clearly audible, but softer than a heavy mains-powered clipper. Together with the absence of a cord, that makes working around sensitive horses calmer. Always let an inexperienced horse get used to the sound first with the machine in your hand, without clipping.

What does a brushless motor mean?
There are no carbon brushes inside that wear down and need replacing. That saves maintenance and is easier on the battery.

How often should I use oil?
Every five to ten minutes while clipping. Brush the hair away first, then apply a few drops of oil to the teeth and the side of the top blade.

What is the difference with the Lister Fusion?
