The supplied 21/23 leaves 2 to 4 mm. If you clip competition horses that have to look short and crisp, it is best to add a finer Heiniger set. A second blade set is practical anyway: that way you can keep working while the first set is with us for sharpening. Hand the blades in cleaned, because dirty blades cost extra.

Choose the Xplorer if you often clip in places without a socket, if you do several horses in a row, or if you work with a young or noise-sensitive horse. The combination of two batteries and a low noise level is aimed at yards, breeders and mobile clippers.

If you always clip in the same place with a socket within reach, a mains-powered clipper from our range is a simpler choice: no batteries to keep track of. If it is only about touching up the head, ears and legs, a small trimmer is handier than this machine. And if you would rather change blade sets without a screwdriver, a snap-on machine such as the Saphir or the Opal suits you better.

The 21/23 gives a cutting height of 2 to 4 mm. That set is set up for a dirtier coat and leaves a little more hair than a fine set.

How long can I clip on one charge?
Up to 120 minutes per battery. With the second battery you get up to 2 x 120 minutes, and you charge one while you work with the other.

Is this clipper quiet enough for a young horse?
The stated noise level is 65 dB and there is no air outlet, so no air blows across the coat. That makes it quieter than many other machines for full clips.

Can I clip cattle with it?
The supplied 21/23 is set up for a dirtier coat, which often suits cattle. Ask us which set matches the animal and the coat you are working with.

Can I have the blades sharpened?
Yes, we sharpen blades of all brands and all machines. Hand them in cleaned and allow one to two weeks.
