Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
This De Niro Boot Co Volare is a brown jumping boot in the Nuvola Caffe finish, set off with a gold-coloured De Niro logo. It is the version without laces, with a slim ankle, a zip at the back, a wide elastic panel and spur rests. Maddelin carries this single pair in foot size 41, height MC and calf L: 46 cm high with a calf of 38.5 cm.
About this riding boot
Brown for showjumping
Under the FEI rules, brown boots are permitted for showjumping, just like black ones; the national jumping rules follow that FEI rule. If you want a brown boot to jump in, this pair therefore works under the FEI and at national level. The LRV is different: there, only black boots are permitted in all disciplines, optionally with a brown top band. For dressage, the national rules ask for single-coloured black boots or boots in the colour of the jacket, Paardensport Vlaanderen for black or the colour of the jacket. Rules differ by federation, discipline, level and country, and they change: check your federation's current rules before you compete.
Nuvola Caffe
Nuvola Caffe is the name of the leather and the colour of this pair. De Niro publishes no technical description and no specific care instructions for Nuvola. Whether this leather has the De Niro WRAT treatment is therefore not documented.
The gold logo
De Niro supplies its logo in three finishes: silver, gold and rose gold. This pair has the gold finish, a small metallic accent on the brown leather.
What this pair shares with every Volare
Beneath the colour is the fixed Volare design: a slim-shaped ankle, a 9 mm YKK zip at the back with a wide elastic panel, a patch stitched onto the inside of the leg, a leather heel piece, a toe cap and a zip guard at the bottom, and spur rests. The lining is natural calf leather; the sole is leather with a Vibram outsole and a removable activated carbon insole.
Who it is for
For showjumpers who want a brown boot and fit size 41 MC L: a fuller calf of 38.5 cm in a medium-short leg of 46 cm. It is a boot for training and for jumping shows where brown is permitted.
Limitations
This is one pair in one size. If you ride LRV competitions or dressage, a black boot is the simpler choice. If you are looking for a brown Volare in a different size, it can be made to order.
