Kentucky Turnout Rug All Weather Classic

Kentucky positions the 0 g for autumn, spring and summer, the 50 g for autumn, spring and winter, and the 150 g for autumn and winter. A clipped horse or one that feels the cold needs more insulation than a horse with a full winter coat. Put the rug on and first close the Velcro and the 2 front closures at the chest. Then fasten the 2 surcingles under the belly, leaving about a hand's width of room, and pass the tail cord under the tail. To remove, reverse the order.

Wash at 30 °C and do not tumble dry. Reproof the outer fabric after more than 5 washes.

Which fill should I choose?
Kentucky recommends the 0 g for autumn, spring and summer, the 50 g for autumn, spring and winter and the 150 g for autumn and winter. Take into account your horse's coat and whether it is clipped.

Is the Classic also suitable for ponies?
Yes. At Maddelin the size range starts at 80/120/4.0 in 0 g and 150 g. The 50 g starts at 130/180/6.0.

Is this turnout rug waterproof?
Yes, the outer fabric has a waterproof, breathable coating and the rug has no spine seam. Kentucky does not give a hydrostatic head figure for the Classic.

Can I use an under rug or neck cover with it?
Kentucky states that the Classic can be combined with an under rug. A detachable neck cover, the Neck All Weather Waterproof Classic, is available separately in the Kentucky range. Ask us about the options.

How do I read the size?
The first number is the Kentucky size in cm, the last the corresponding size in feet. So 140/190/6.3 is Kentucky size 140 or 6'3.

How do I wash this turnout rug?
At 30 °C, do not tumble dry. After more than 5 washes, Kentucky recommends reproofing the outer fabric.

What is the difference with the Comfort?
The Classic is lighter, with 600 denier ripstop and 2 surcingles. The Comfort has 1200 denier ripstop, 3 belly surcingles, a longer tail flap, reflective details and fills up to 400 g.
