What is the difference between a tailcoat and an ordinary show jacket?
A tailcoat is short at the front and has long tails with a vent at the back. It is worn in dressage at the levels where that is customary. An ordinary show jacket runs all the way round to below the hip.

Why does this tailcoat have a double vent?
The two vents let the tails fall to the left and right of the saddle when you sit. That stops the fabric bunching up underneath you and keeps the line of your back clean during the test.

What does embossed pinstripe mean?
