Fit the headpiece so that the noseband sits about two fingers below the cheekbone and there is two fingers of room between noseband and nasal bone. Leave a flat hand under the throatlash. Then check that the headpiece lies nicely flat and that the browband is not pushing against the base of the ears.

A fixed routine is enough for care: wipe down after the ride with a slightly damp cloth, clean every few weeks with saddle soap and then condition with leather balm or leather oil. Store the bridle dry and hang it on a rounded bridle rack so the padded headpiece keeps its shape.
