Size chart

The right size is essential for comfort, safety and performance in equestrian sport. At Maddelin Equestrian we're happy to help you choose the right size, so your equipment fits well: riding wear, helmets, boots or equipment for your horse.
Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Always measure carefully and use our size charts as a guide.
Fit varies from brand to brand, so you'll find specific information on each product page. Not sure? Send us a message or come and try in our shop in Torhout.

Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.
| Feet | Inches | Total length (cm) |

Product Information
The Clip 'N Care clipper oil is an acid-free mineral oil for lubricating clipper blades, blade sets and the moving parts inside them. You apply a few drops regularly while clipping, so that the blades never run dry. The oil suits all types of clippers and is part of the basic kit for anyone who clips or trims their own horses.
About this maintenance product
In every blade set two cutting surfaces move continuously against each other: the fixed bottom blade against the skin and the top blade that travels back and forth. That friction is exactly where a blade set wears. A thin film of oil between the two surfaces keeps the movement smooth and limits the heat it creates.
Oiling is therefore not an end-of-season job but something you do while clipping. Clip 'N Care advises applying a few drops to the blades each time while you are working. If you wait until the blades feel noticeably dry or hot, the set has already given up some of its sharpness.
Regular, timely oiling helps prevent overheating and premature wear of the blades and the machine. That matters most on long sessions, for example when you clip a horse out fully and the machine runs for half an hour or more at a stretch.
You can also use the oil on moving parts inside the blade set itself, as far as the manufacturer of your clipper prescribes it. Every machine differs on this point, so always check the manual first to see which parts may be oiled and which may not.
Note the difference from a cleaning or cooling spray. This oil is there for lubrication. Clearing hair and dirt from between the teeth, or cooling the blades as you go, is the job of another product; the two complement each other and do not replace each other.
