Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Always measure carefully and use our size charts as a guide.

Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Wide Peak: more shade and an elegant silhouette
What sets this version apart from the Charles Owen EQx Hyda Standard Peak is the wider peak.
The Wide Peak offers a larger shaded area at the front and gives the riding helmet an elegant, slightly more pronounced shape. This makes the helmet particularly appealing for dressage riders who like a refined look.
It is also an interesting option for show jumping riders who like to wear a wide peak, as long as the helmet meets the applicable competition rules.
Prefer a more compact peak or a more traditional look? Then the Standard Peak may be a better choice.
Dial-Fit: an adjustable fit that sits well
A riding helmet needs a correct fit to be worn as intended. That is why the Charles Owen EQx Hyda has a Dial-Fit adjustment system.
The dial at the back lets you adjust the fit of the helmet precisely within the chosen size range. This helps the helmet sit steadily and comfortably on your head.
The lightweight construction is also designed for comfortable wear during schooling, lessons and competitions.
The Dial-Fit system is there to fine-tune the fit. The right shell and a good fit to the shape of your head remain essential for correct use.
Mips® technology
The Charles Owen EQx Hyda Gloss Sparkly Wide Peak is fitted with Mips® (Multi-directional Impact Protection System).
This technology is designed to help reduce the rotational motion transmitted to the head in certain angled impacts.
Mips® is an additional feature within the helmet construction. It does not prevent accidents and cannot rule out head injury, but it is a relevant feature for riders who deliberately choose a riding helmet with this technology.
Gloss Sparkly: glossy elegance in two colours
The Gloss Sparkly finish combines a gloss shell with sparkly details and refined metallic accents.
The Charles Owen EQx Hyda Gloss Sparkly Wide Peak is available in two colour combinations:
- Black Gloss Sparkly with Rose Gold: gloss black with subtle glitter details and rose gold coloured accents. A warm, luxurious look.

The EQx Hyda has a removable, hand-washable headband. You can clean it separately and replace it when needed.
The helmet is compatible with EQx Standard and EQx 2.0 headbands, so a spare headband is a handy addition if you ride several times a week.
