Cavalor Strucomix Original

The Cavalor Strucomix Original is a fibre-rich, oat-free muesli for healthy, lively horses in leisure riding or light work. Within the Cavalor range this is a Level 1 feed: aimed at horses with normal to limited energy requirements, and at sensitive types. The formula combines long fibres, puffed grains, herbs and pre- and probiotic components. Feed it alongside plenty of good-quality forage.

About this muesli

The most striking feature is the high proportion of structure. With 15.5% crude fibre and ingredients such as linseed hulls, alfalfa, spelt hulls and soya bean hulls, the muesli brings several fibre sources together. The long alfalfa fibres mean a horse spends longer on its portion.

The muesli is made entirely without oats. That makes Strucomix Original worth considering for horses where you do not need the quickly available energy from oats. For energy the formula contains barley flakes and puffed barley, maize and wheat, among others. Puffing is a heat treatment that opens up the starch in the grain.

Strucomix Original also contains pre- and probiotic components, including the yeast culture Saccharomyces cerevisiae CNCM I-4407. Thymol and carvacrol are included as sensory additives. Together with dried carrot pieces and herbs, these ingredients give the muesli its pronounced flavour, which often makes the difference with fussy eaters.

The muesli supplies 0.8 EWpa/kg and contains 11% crude protein, 5% crude fat, 6% sugar and 23% starch. That suits leisure horses and horses in light work. If your horse trains intensively or structurally needs more energy, a concentrate from a higher energy level in the Cavalor range will fit better. Enough good-quality forage and fresh drinking water always remain the basis of the ration.

Cavalor advises 300 to 700 g per 100 kg body weight per day, which comes to 1.8 to 4.2 kg per day for a 600 kg horse. Divide the concentrate over several meals and feed it after forage where possible.
