Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
This Cavalleria Toscana riding shirt with short sleeves is a jersey shirt for girls, offered by Maddelin in Violet Ice and in sizes 152 (12 years) and 164 (14 years). The manufacturer makes it from Eurojersey and intends it for summer competitions and for training. Your daughter wears it under her show jacket or, on a warm day, as the only layer.
About this competition shirt
Cavalleria Toscana designs in Monsummano Terme in Tuscany. At the manufacturer this model is called Girl's Short Sleeve Riding Shirt in Jersey and carries the article number CAA055_JE022. Our version is colour code 2M00, Violet Ice, in two sizes: 152 and 164. The manufacturer presents the model as a competition shirt for girls with short sleeves, meant for summer competitions.
About the fabric Cavalleria Toscana states Eurojersey. That is a fabric brand and not a fibre name: the manufacturer publishes no fibre composition with percentages for this model, nor the fabric weight, the washing instructions or the country of manufacture. What the manufacturer does say about the fabric is that it lets air through and gives room to move. A technical jersey moves moisture to the outside, so it dries more quickly than a woven cotton shirt.
The colour decides where this shirt can go. Violet Ice is not white. In showjumping, FEI Jumping Rules article 207.2.3.3 requires a fully white shirt for children and pony riders, and at the Belgian federations the same applies for scholars and ponies. In dressage the Belgian rules ask for a white shirt; the FEI rules say nothing about the shirt and prescribe only a white or off white stock or tie. This shirt therefore belongs in training and in classes where the shirt colour is free. Rules differ by federation, by discipline, by level and by country and change regularly: before you start, check the current rules of your own federation.
And the limitations. A short sleeve means no white cuffs, so for a class with long sleeves this is not the right model. It is a thin summer shirt: on a chilly morning your daughter needs a layer over it. There is one colour, and the size choice stays limited to 152 and 164. Because the fabric weight is not known, there is no way to judge how thin the fabric turns out under a light jacket.
