About this competition shirt

This is the short sleeve version of the Heat Sealed Bib model. The bib, the front panel that takes the place of a stock front, is finished with sealed seams: the edges are bonded under heat instead of stitched through. That keeps the front flat, even when a close-fitting show jacket goes over it.

Where the short sleeve makes the difference. With a long sleeve shirt you have to watch the white cuff in showjumping. That falls away here: there is no cuff. What still applies is the white collar and the white tie, stock or choker, and for children and pony riders a fully white shirt. This shirt is white, so that requirement stays within reach too.

Warm days. In very warm weather the ground jury can decide that riding without a jacket is allowed. The rules name no temperature there; the wording stays qualitative. What they do say is that the shirt must then have sleeves in showjumping. A short sleeve shirt meets that requirement and is the more pleasant choice on such a day than a long sleeve. In Belgian dressage, a short sleeve also covers the shoulder, which is what is asked there without a jacket. Because rules differ by federation and by level and change regularly, the rules of your own federation remain decisive.

Limitations. A white shirt with a heat-sealed bib is competition kit. The sealed edges tolerate little ironing heat, and white shows sand and collar marks quickly. For daily work in the yard this is not the shirt. And with short sleeves you will need an extra layer on a cold day.

Not to be found at the manufacturer. Cavalleria Toscana currently has a product page only for the long sleeve version of this model. The short sleeve version has no page of its own, so the fibre composition, the collar material, the fastening type, the fabric weight, the country of manufacture and the washing instructions are not confirmed by the manufacturer.
