Size guide

A correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size so that your equipment fits perfectly—whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only ensures greater comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as precisely as possible. Because fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.
How to measure correctly?
For the best results, always measure with a flexible tape measure, close to the body but without tightening.
-
Chest circumference: measure around the widest part of the chest
-
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips
-
Inseam length: measure from groin to ankle
-
Head circumference (helmets): measure just above the eyebrows and ears
-
Calf circumference & height (boots/chaps): measure the widest part of the calf and the height from heel to hollow of the knee
If you are in doubt between two sizes? We usually advise choosing the larger size for extra comfort, unless otherwise stated with the product.
At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
Fager Carl Titanium – Eggbutt
For sensitive horses that struggle with contact and pressure
The Fager Carl with fixed rings is a revolutionary titanium bit, specially designed for horses that struggle with contact and are sensitive to pressure. Thanks to its anatomical shape and sophisticated design, Carl offers ultimate comfort and clarity in communication between rider and horse.
Suitable for horses that:
• Are heavy in the hand or lean strongly on the bit
• Have difficulty with bit acceptance
• Are sensitive to pressure on the tongue or bars
• Often chew, salivate, or "drop" the bit
• Have a low palate and wide tongue
Why choose the Fager Carl Titanium
• Anatomically shaped mouthpiece that follows the mouth's structure
• Tongue relief and alleviation on the sensitive bars
• Bar-relief system: under pressure, the bit bends slightly towards the bars for a fair connection
• Fixed rings (Eggbutts) for more stability and direct rein aids – ideal for sensitive horses
• Solid titanium:
• Extremely lightweight
• Antibacterial and biocompatible
• Increases salivation
• Warm to the touch and non-toxic
• Hypoallergenic and easy to clean
Additional benefits:
• No palate interference thanks to a flat, short center piece
• Helps horses that ‘flee’ pressure or struggle to seek contact
• Blue coating does not rust and remains stylish
• Made with an eye for functionality and comfort
Please note: The Fager logo must always be facing up and visible on the horse's right side.
No more struggle in communication. With the Fager Carl Titanium Eggbutt, you'll find the perfect balance of lightness, stability, and softness for your horse.
