Size chart

The correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size, so that your equipment fits perfectly - whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only provides more comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as specifically as possible. Since fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.

Dogwear

At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
Product Information
The Bucas Greenline Turnout 100 is a waterproof, breathable turnout rug with a 100 g fill, made entirely from recycled yarn. It is designed for horses living out in the in-between seasons, on the wet, chilly days when an unfilled rain sheet is too light and a winter rug too warm. You get the cut and the magnetic Snap-lock closure of a fully featured Bucas turnout, in a fabric that started life as plastic bottles.
About this turnout rug
A 100 g rug is the layer you reach for most often in autumn and spring. The Greenline Turnout 100 keeps your horse dry in the field or paddock and adds a light layer of insulation, without going straight to a heavy winter rug. It suits any horse that lives out, whatever the discipline: dressage, showjumping, eventing or leisure riding.
What sets the Greenline apart from the other Bucas lines is the material. Bucas has plastic bottles crushed, shredded and spun into yarn, which is then woven into Ripstop. According to Bucas, producing this recycled yarn uses considerably less energy and water and results in lower greenhouse gas emissions. It is not just the outer fabric either: the insulation, lining, straps and binding tape are all made from recycled yarn.
None of that changes how the rug performs. The outer is a 600 denier Ripstop. Ripstop is a weave pattern that makes tears less likely to start and stops them from spreading. The fabric is waterproof to more than 5000 mm hydrostatic head and breathable to more than 3000 g per 24 hours per m², so moisture from the horse can escape. The fill is 100 g thermobonded polyester. Inside is a smooth recycled lining, which Bucas calls Silk-feel/Dermo-care, that keeps the coat sleek and in good condition.
The Greenline has a Classic Cut with shoulder darts. These pleats give more room and a better fit around the chest and shoulder. At the front, the rug fastens with a T-bar and a magnetic Snap-lock: the magnet holds the rug correctly in position and replaces hook and loop on the chest. Cross surcingles under the belly, a tail flap and a fillet string complete the rug. The fillet string stops the rug from blowing up over the back in the wind. Attachment and connection points are provided for leg straps, a matching neck and Bucas Liners, Quilts and Coolers, so the same rug can take you a little further into the season.
Key benefits
- Keeps your horse dry on rainy days and breathes, so moisture under the rug can escape.
- 100 g fill: a light layer of insulation for autumn and spring.
- Outer fabric, insulation, lining, straps and binding tape are made from recycled yarn.
- Shoulder darts give room around the chest and shoulder.
- Magnetic Snap-lock closure: quick to fasten, and the rug stays where it should.
- Can be extended with a neck and with Bucas Liners, Quilts and Coolers.
Practical advice
Measure your horse the way Bucas specifies: from the centre of the chest, over the highest point of the shoulder, to the back of the hind leg. Choose the size closest to that measurement. Do not size up to be safe: a rug that is too big slips to one side, presses on the withers and can cause rubs.
The fill your horse needs depends on more than the thermometer. Breed, whether the horse is clipped, humidity and wind all play a part. Bucas attaches a Rug Selector label to every rug showing the recommended temperature range; use it as a starting point and check under the rug regularly. Be realistic about what waterproof means, too: in heavy rain, water can run in along the neck or seep through edges and seams. Bucas says as much itself.
Wash the rug by hand or in the machine at a maximum of 30 degrees, on a gentle cycle, using Bucas Rug Wash only. Household detergent can damage the waterproof coating. The water-repellent finish on the outer fabric wears off with weather, use and washing; restore it after washing with Bucas Rug Conditioner. Manure, urine and grease from the coat attack the coating, so regular washing is the better habit.
When to choose this turnout rug
The Greenline Turnout 100 suits riders looking for a well-made rug for the in-between seasons who deliberately choose recycled material, without giving up shoulder darts, a magnetic closure or the option of adding a neck and liners.
If your horse also lives out through the winter, or is clipped, the Bucas Greenline Turnout 300 with its 300 g fill is the better choice. If your horse is hard on rugs, the Bucas Irish Turnout 100 with its heavier 1200 denier Ripstop makes more sense, as does the Bucas Atlantic Turnout 50 in 1680 denier ballistic nylon. For a narrow horse, the Bucas Freedom Turnout, the entry-level Bucas model with a slim fit and no shoulder darts, is worth a look.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure my horse for the right size?
Measure from the centre of the chest, over the highest point of the shoulder, to the back of the hind leg, and choose the nearest size.
What weather is 100 g suitable for?
Wet, chilly days in the in-between seasons. The exact range depends on your horse: breed, coat, clipped or not, wind and humidity. The rug carries a Bucas Rug Selector label showing the recommended temperature range.
How does it differ from the Greenline Turnout 300?
Only in the fill: 100 g versus 300 g. Outer fabric, lining, cut and closure are the same. The 100 g is the autumn and spring rug, the 300 g the winter one.
Can I add a neck or an under rug?
Yes. The rug has attachment points for a matching neck, which can be ordered separately on request. The connection points let you fasten Bucas Liners, Quilts and Coolers underneath as an extra layer.
How do I wash this rug?
By hand or in the machine at a maximum of 30 degrees, gentle cycle, with Bucas Rug Wash and no fabric softener. Do not spin or tumble dry. Afterwards, treat the clean outer side with Bucas Rug Conditioner.
My horse needs a different size. Is that possible?
Yes. Maddelin stocks sizes 145/195/6.6 and 155/205/6.9. Other sizes can be ordered in on request.
