Size guide

A correct size is essential for both comfort and performance in equestrian sports. At Maddelin Equestrian, we are happy to help you choose the right size so that your equipment fits perfectly—whether it's riding apparel, helmets, boots, or accessories.
A well-fitting outfit not only ensures greater comfort but also better performance in the saddle. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can restrict your freedom of movement and affect your aids. Therefore, we recommend always measuring accurately and using our size charts as a guide.
Our size charts are organized by product category and brand, allowing you to choose as precisely as possible. Because fits can vary by brand, you will find specific information with each product to guide you.
How to measure correctly?
For the best results, always measure with a flexible tape measure, close to the body but without tightening.
-
Chest circumference: measure around the widest part of the chest
-
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of your waist
-
Hips: measure around the widest part of the hips
-
Inseam length: measure from groin to ankle
-
Head circumference (helmets): measure just above the eyebrows and ears
-
Calf circumference & height (boots/chaps): measure the widest part of the calf and the height from heel to hollow of the knee
If you are in doubt between two sizes? We usually advise choosing the larger size for extra comfort, unless otherwise stated with the product.
At Maddelin, we believe that the right fit makes all the difference between just riding and truly riding well. Use our size charts as a guide and confidently choose the size that suits you and your horse.
On warm days, you want to offer your horse rest and comfort, without being constantly bothered by flies and insects. The Bucas Freedom fly rug in blue is a reliable choice for riders looking for a practical, durable, and affordable solution. This rug is designed for everyday use and offers an excellent balance between protection and ventilation.
The fine mesh fabric effectively keeps flies and other insects at bay, while allowing air to circulate freely. This prevents overheating and ensures your horse remains comfortable even on warm summer days. Ideal for horses that are sensitive to insect bites or easily become restless in the pasture.
The Bucas Freedom line is known for its ease of use. This fly rug is easy to put on and take off and stays securely in place thanks to its classic, functional cut. Perfect for riders looking for a no-nonsense rug that simply does what it's supposed to do.
Maddelin's tip:
Use this fly rug in combination with a fly mask for optimal protection during the grazing season, especially for horses with sensitive skin.
