Bucas Foal Turnout 50g

Start the rug in the smallest position and check the fit every week. A foal grows quickly, and what fitted last week may now be tight at the chest or belly. You should be able to slide a flat hand easily under the chest strap and the belly panel.

Use the 50 g fill in cool, wet and windy weather. On a mild, dry day, a foal with a normal coat often needs no rug at all. Regularly feel under the rug at the withers to check the foal is neither too warm nor too cold.

Place the rug calmly on the back, fasten the adjustable chest strap first and then the belly panel. Finally attach the fillet string under the tail. To remove it, work in reverse order. Wash the rug as little as possible, in the machine at a maximum of 30 °C with Bucas Rug Wash. Close hook-and-loop and straps before washing, do not use bleach and do not tumble dry.

Does the rug really grow with my foal?
Yes, within limits. With 3 adjustment points on the chest panel and 2 on the belly panel, you set it to S, M or L. Length ranges from 97 to 104 cm, belly depth from 54 to 61 cm.

Which size should I choose?
There is only one size: 79 x 57 cm. You adjust the fit yourself with the adjustment points.

What weather is a 50 g fill for?
Cool, wet and windy weather. It is a light layer, not a winter rug for hard frost.

Is the rug waterproof?
Yes. Bucas states more than 10,000 mm hydrostatic head, with a breathability of more than 3000 g/24h/m².

From what age can a foal wear this rug?
Bucas does not specify this. Put the rug on and check whether position S sits well at the chest, withers and belly.
