Wash the breeches at 30°C, inside out, with similar colours. Do not use fabric softener and do not tumble dry. That is not only better for the fabric: softener settles on the silicone and reduces the grip, and the heat of a tumble dryer damages the silicone. Washing inside out protects both the grip and the colour.

Wear the breeches with a riding boot or half chaps with a smooth inner side, so the silicone can work freely against the saddle. Use the phone pocket for your phone and not for sharp or heavy objects. If you are torn between Knee Grip and Full Grip, go for Knee Grip if you ride in both a light and a full seat, and Full Grip if you work in a full seat almost all of the time.

The Martin suits the rider looking for everyday breeches: intensive training sessions, quiet hacks and all the work in between. The generous pockets and dark colours also make them practical around the yard.

If you mainly ride in a full seat and want maximum stability, take the Full Grip version. If you work a lot in a light seat or want to be able to slide freely, Knee Grip is the better choice. If you are after white competition breeches, this is not the model for you: the Martin only exists in Black and Navy. For genuinely winter-weight breeches, look at another model in our range as well.

What is the difference between Full Grip and Knee Grip?
With Knee Grip the silicone sits on the knee only, which gives subtle support for an independent seat and leaves the seat free. With Full Grip the entire seat is covered in silicone, for maximum stability in the saddle. The Martin is available in both versions.

Which finish should I choose?
Knee Grip if you ride in both a light and a full seat and want to slide freely, Full Grip if you work in a full seat almost all of the time and want to sit as stably as possible.

Are these breeches suitable for competition?
They are technical riding breeches, but they only exist in Black and Navy. Where white or light-coloured breeches are expected, choose another model from our range.

Where is the phone pocket?
On the right front. It is a deep pocket that keeps your phone securely in place while you ride.
