Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.

Rugs

How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.

Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.

The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information

The BR elastic bandage 301001 is a double elastic horse bandage for use in the stable, during work and in transport. Its strong stretch lets it sit closely around the leg, so you can use it for support and protection whenever you want to bandage. It comes in a set of four, enough for all four legs at once.

About these bandages

The bandages are made of 100% acrylic and are double elastic. That means they stretch well as you apply them, so you can wrap evenly around the leg. Correct, even bandaging still matters: elastic bandages should always go on with controlled tension.

Each bandage is 4 metres long and 11 centimetres wide. That length gives you enough material to bandage the leg carefully. The strong hook-and-loop closure holds the end in place and makes opening and closing straightforward.

One useful point: the same set works as a stable bandage, work bandage or transport bandage, depending on how you bandage and which padding you use underneath. That makes them equally practical for competition riders and for leisure and professional riders who need different types of bandage.

The set of four is supplied in a luxury carry bag from BR. It keeps the bandages together and lets you take them to the yard, a schooling session or a show in one go.

For care, the bandages are machine washable up to 30°C. BR advises using a wash bag and a detergent for delicates, and closing all hook-and-loop fasteners before they go in. They should not go in the tumble dryer.

Always apply elastic bandages evenly and with controlled tension. Bandaging too loosely can cause the bandage to slip, while uneven or too much tension can cause undesirable pressure.

Depending on the use, BR elastic bandages can be combined with suitable bandage pads. Especially for stable and transport use, a pad is often used. Always choose a pad that suits the desired use and the size of the horse's leg.

Wash the bandages at a maximum of 30°C in a laundry bag and close the hook-and-loop fasteners beforehand. Let them air dry after washing.

Wrap the bandage evenly around the horse's leg, distributing the tension carefully with each turn. Secure the end with the hook-and-loop fastener. If necessary, use a suitable bandage pad. After application, check that the bandage fits snugly and is not uneven or excessively tight anywhere.
