Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.

Product Information
The Boss Equestrian Sammy Function Cardigan is a functional men's training cardigan with a structured stand-up collar. Boss Equestrian describes it as a training jacket that combines a modern look with functional comfort, made from a light and breathable material.
About this cardigan
The fabric consists of 85% polyamide and 15% elastane and is made in interlock with a fabric weight of 280 g/m². This figure refers to the fabric itself, not the weight of the garment. The elastane content gives the fabric its stretch, which you'll notice in the movements you make in and around the saddle: mounting, moving with your horse, lifting a saddle or bucket.
Boss Equestrian describes the material as light and breathable. For a layer that you keep on in the stable as well as in the saddle, this makes the difference between comfortable working through and taking off your cardigan halfway through the training. Test standards or measurements for this indication are not mentioned in the provided product specifications, so no additional claims are associated with it.
The cut is straight and elastic cuffs on the sleeves and hem close off the cardigan. These cuffs keep the sleeves in place when you stretch your arms and prevent the hem from riding up as soon as you lean forward in the saddle. On the sides are zippered pockets, in which your mobile phone and keys will stay put while you ride.
The finish remains deliberately understated. Boss Equestrian finishes the cardigan with discrete logo details on the chest and back, making it recognizable without overpowering the rest of your riding attire.
The Sammy Function Cardigan is not limited to one discipline and is equally suitable for dressage and jumping training as for daily stable work. If you are looking for a warmer layer for truly cold winter days, a padded model or a knitted sweater would be a more logical choice.
