Product Information
The Boss Equestrian Marty Show Shirt is a white competition shirt for men with a button-down collar and a half button fastening. Boss Equestrian makes it in a soft, breathable fabric with plenty of stretch and puts an embroidered logo on the chest. You wear it at a competition under your show jacket. We still have it in size XS (men 44).
About this competition shirt
Boss Equestrian states 75% polyamide and 25% elastane for the Marty. That is the super-stretch quality the brand uses for its show shirts: a fabric built above all on stretch, which Boss calls soft and breathable. In the saddle you notice that at the shoulders and the upper arm, where a woven shirt starts to pull sooner.
The top is what makes this model recognisable. The button-down collar is a classic collar with small buttons at the points, so those points stay put instead of curling away under your jacket. The fastening is a half button fastening: you pull the shirt on over the head and button only the upper part of the front panel. One embroidered Boss logo sits on the chest; for the rest the shirt stays plain white.
That plain white is, in this category, the point the rules are about. Competition dress rules differ by federation, by discipline, by level and by country, and they are revised regularly. So check the current rules of your own federation before you enter. In showjumping the FEI prescribes a white collar, white cuffs with long sleeves and a white tie, stock or choker; for children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white. In dressage the FEI rules only say that the stock or tie must be white or off-white, while the Belgian rules do require a white shirt. A white button-down collar therefore matches what is asked for in both disciplines, but the kit permitted in your class is in the rules of your own federation.
Boss Equestrian does not state the sleeve length for this model, nor the fabric weight and the country of manufacture. That is relevant when the ground jury allows riding without a jacket in very warm weather: in showjumping the shirt must then have sleeves, short or long, and sleeveless is excluded. If you want to be sure on those days, check how long the sleeves of your garment actually are.
A limitation that is mainly practical: with us this model runs in one size today. Boss Equestrian carries the Marty itself in a wider size range, but with us only XS (men 44) is still available.
