Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The Boss Equestrian Jeff Hybrid Puffer Jacket is a hooded quilted jacket that combines two different fabric qualities in one design. Boss Equestrian describes the model as a straight-cut outerwear piece made from a material mix, wind- and water-repellent, breathable and warm, and offering full freedom of movement.
About this jacket
The first fabric is 100% polyester with a waterproof finish and a specification of 10,000/10,000 according to JIS. The second fabric is a heavier quality of 355 g/m² made from 51% polyester, 22% cotton, 22% viscose, and 5% elastane. This second quality introduces elastane into the jacket, providing the stretch that the waterproof fabric itself lacks.
That's what a hybrid construction offers you as a rider: the weather-resistant fabric keeps wind and wet away from the most exposed areas, while the stretch quality moves with your shoulders, arms, and torso as you work in the saddle. The product photos show the quilted panels on the front and back and hood, and the smoother, heavier quality on the sleeves and side panels. However, Boss does not specify in the provided specifications which fabric is on which panel, so this pairing is not presented here as a fixed given.
The model is straight-cut and fastens with a full-length zipper. The hood is made in the same quilted quality as the front and back panel and provides extra coverage when it's windy or drizzling on the way to the pasture. The straight cut allows the jacket to be worn over a sweater or fleece.
The finish remains understated. The jacket features a Boss logo patch made of imitation leather, the only clear branding on an otherwise quietly designed model. The contrast between the quilted sections and the plain panels determines the structure, not the logo.
The Jeff is not limited to one discipline and is suitable for both stable work and outdoor rides during a wet Belgian winter season. If you are looking for a layer that only keeps your torso warm and leaves your arms completely free, then a quilted bodywarmer like the Jacob Puffer Vest is the more logical choice. If you want a completely waterproof rain jacket without insulation, then an unlined rain model would better suit that need.
