Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The Boss Equestrian Jamie Puffer Velvet Jacket Men is a padded winter jacket for riders who want to stay warm in the stable and by the arena without wearing an overtly outdoor jacket. Boss Equestrian uses an outer fabric of 70% polyester and 30% nylon with a brushed velvet finish, giving the jacket a more understated than technical look.
About this winter jacket
The outer fabric weighs 152 grams per square meter — this is the weight of the fabric itself, not the jacket. Polyester gives the fabric shape retention and colorfastness, while nylon provides tear resistance. This combination is intended for a jacket that daily rubs against a stable door, a saddle cabinet, or a halter rope. BOSS does not specify what filling material is used in the padding.
The surface is described by Boss Equestrian as waterproof and windproof, with a water column of 10,000 mm and breathability of 10,000 g/m²/24 h (MVP, JIS). In practice, 10,000 mm means that continuous drizzle while mucking out or saddling a horse will not immediately soak through, and that moist air can escape from within instead of sticking to your sweater. BOSS does not provide further test data or standards, so no additional protection claims are associated with this.
The high stand-up collar with ribbed knit insert closes comfortably around the neck without constricting, so you don't need a scarf in windy conditions to keep the collar closed. The front zipper is concealed behind a trim, and the side pockets close with a zipper — handy when you bend over or lift a leg and your phone or a hoof pick is in your pocket.
The finish is deliberately kept understated: no contrast stitching, no large inscriptions, just the brushed velvet look that gives the jacket a matte and slightly velvety appearance. You can find the Jamie in Black, Sharkskin, Birchwood, and Sky Captain, four shades that can be easily combined with riding breeches as well as regular clothes.
The Jamie is not competition clothing and is not tied to a specific discipline; you wear it just as well in the parking lot of a show as on the way to the stable. If you are looking for something that fits under a jacket or a rain jacket, you might prefer a bodywarmer such as the Jacob Puffer Bodywarmer.
