Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.

Product Information
The Boss Equestrian Jaden Puffer Parka is a long, straight winter parka for the hours spent around the horse rather than in the saddle. The cut extends over the hips, keeping your lower back covered while mucking out a stall or waiting alongside the arena. The wide quilted patterns provide insulation without adding bulk to the jacket.
About this winter parka
The outer fabric consists of 70% polyester and 30% nylon and weighs 152 g/m². This figure refers to the weight of the fabric per square meter and not the weight of the jacket; thus, it is a relatively fine, densely woven outer layer. Nylon provides tear resistance to the mix, while polyester ensures shape retention—two properties visible at the stable in how a jacket withstands a season.
BOSS specifies a water column of 10,000 mm and breathability of 10,000 g/m²/24h (MVP, JIS) for this fabric. The water column is the water pressure the fabric can withstand before moisture penetrates; 10,000 mm practically means continuous rain, not just a ten-minute shower. The MVP value indicates how much water vapor the fabric allows to pass per square meter per day: this determines whether you get clammy while hauling hay or pushing wheelbarrows. BOSS does not provide further test data or standards, so no additional protection claims are associated with this.
The warmth comes from the wide, quilted patterns. The type of filling used for this is not stated in the provided product specifications. Therefore, we do not make any statements here about the type of filling or a temperature range.
At the top, there is a high collar with an integrated hood, which blocks wind around the neck and head when it's windy outside. The front remains uncluttered thanks to a concealed zipper, and the side pockets have narrow openings that draw little attention. The overall look is more understated than sporty.
The Jaden is not tied to a single discipline and is intended as an outer jacket for cold, wet days at the stable and alongside the arena. If you want a jacket that you can also wear in the saddle, a shorter model or a bodywarmer would be a more logical choice: the length and straight cut of this parka are not designed for that, and BOSS makes no statements about it.
