Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

The Boss Equestrian Hannah High Waist Knee Grip are women's riding breeches with a high waist and knee grip, made in an ultra-lightweight stretch fabric that breathes and dries quickly. They have a smartphone pocket and a BOSS logo on the left leg. Composition: 73% polyamide and 27% elastane. Maddelin stocks them in Tealeaf and Tortoise, in XS, S and M.
About these breeches
This Hannah belongs to the Boss Equestrian FW26 collection and is BOSS article B8W1304. It carries the same name as the Hannah in white and black, but it is a different article, with a different fabric and different details.
Ultra-lightweight, breathable and quick-drying
BOSS makes this Hannah in an ultra-lightweight stretch fabric and describes it as breathable and quick-drying. The composition is 73% polyamide and 27% elastane. The Hannah in white and black is 75% polyamide and 25% elastane, in a fabric that BOSS mainly describes as lint-resistant.
High waist and Knee Grip
As with every Hannah, the waist is high and the grip sits at the knee. So there is no grip on the seat. BOSS gives no further details on the shape of the knee grips for this article.
Smartphone pocket and logo
A practical touch is the smartphone pocket: BOSS explicitly provides a place for your phone. The brand does not say exactly where the pocket is. The BOSS logo sits on the left leg.
Colours and sizes
Maddelin stocks this Hannah in the seasonal colours Tealeaf and Tortoise, each in XS, S and M. BOSS itself makes the model from XXS to XL. Tealeaf and Tortoise are colours for training, lessons and everyday riding. White is allowed in all disciplines; off-white is also allowed in FEI dressage, light fawn in FEI showjumping. Rules differ by federation, discipline, level and country and change regularly: check your federation's current rules.
Care
Wash the breeches at 30 °C on a delicate programme. Do not use bleach, do not put them in the tumble dryer, do not iron them and do not have them dry cleaned.
If you want Full Grip in the same seasonal colours with a high waist, the Hailey High Waist is the model to compare. The Hazel in Tealeaf and Tortoise also has Knee Grip, but a regular waist.
