Between two sizes? We usually recommend the larger size, unless stated otherwise on the product. In our experience, Italian brands (such as Animo, Cavalleria Toscana and Vestrum) tend to come up small.
Rugs
How to measure your horse: using a soft tape measure, measure from the centre of the chest, over the point of the shoulder, horizontally along the body to the furthest point of the hindquarters. This is the total length.
Always check the brand's size chart. A rug size in cm (for example 125 or 145) is the back length for most brands, and how it converts to feet differs per brand. Some brands, such as Bucas, also measure differently. That's why every rug comes with the brand's own size information.
The table below converts the total length from feet to cm. This conversion is the same for every brand.

Product Information
The Boss Equestrian Elton Show Shirt is a long-sleeve competition shirt for men, made in Boss Equestrian's Sportpower stretch quality. You wear it at a competition as the top layer under your show jacket, in a fabric with plenty of stretch that Boss describes as breathable and quick-drying. Available in white and in grey.
About this competition shirt
According to the supplier specifications provided, the fabric of the Elton consists of 73% polyamide and 27% elastane. That elastane share is high for a shirt, and in the saddle that is exactly the point: your shoulders and arms move constantly, when you take up the rein, over a fence or during a longer test. A fabric with that much stretch rides up less quickly than a woven shirt.
Boss Equestrian calls the quality Sportpower stretch and describes it as breathable and quick-drying. Quick-drying means here that the material moves moisture to the outside and therefore stays damp for less time. On the weight or thickness of the fabric Boss states nothing, and the specifications also say nothing about the collar, the fastening and the cuffs. What is established: the shirt has long sleeves and carries an embroidered Boss logo on the chest.
Boss also gives LFS 50 for this model. That is a designation from the manufacturer about the material used. No test method or standard is given with it, and no CE marking or EU declaration of conformity has been found for this product. The designation is therefore left here as Boss gives it, without any further comment on it.
The Elton runs in two colours, and that difference matters in practice. White is the colour asked for in most classes: competition dress rules differ by federation, by discipline, by level and by country, and they are revised regularly. So check the current rules of your own federation before you enter. In showjumping the FEI prescribes a white collar, white cuffs with long sleeves and a white tie, stock or choker; for children and pony riders the whole shirt must be white. In dressage the FEI rules only say that the stock or tie must be white or off-white, while the Belgian rules do require a white shirt. The grey version is therefore mainly a choice for training, warming up and the course walk.
The model is not tied to one discipline. Boss Equestrian brings it to market as a competition shirt, and what is permitted in your class is set by the rules of your own federation.
