Animo Blur Women's Match Shirt

The Animo Blur is a competition top for women from the Italian brand Animo. You wear it in the arena under your show jacket, and at training when you want to ride in competition dress already. Here it comes in white, navy and black, with white offering the widest choice of sizes: XS to XL. That makes this the model with the most choice within our Animo range.

About this competition shirt

Animo has been designing riding clothing in Cassola, in the Italian province of Vicenza, since 2000. The Blur belongs to the women's competition range. In our webshop it comes in three colours, but not every colour in every size: white runs from XS to XL, navy comes in XS and M, black in L. Animo works in Italian sizes, so XS corresponds to IT 38 and EU 34, and XL to IT 46 and EU 42.

What Animo itself publishes about this model does not exist. The brand has taken its webshop offline: animoitalia.com no longer has product pages and the search function does not find the model name. There is therefore no statement of the fibre composition, the sleeve length, the collar type, the fastening, the fabric weight, the size guide or the washing instructions. For the composition and the washing instructions, the care label in the garment remains the source for now.

What such a competition top is used for can be said clearly. In showjumping, FEI Jumping Rules article 207.2.3 asks for a white collar, white cuffs with long sleeves and a white tie, stock or choker; short sleeves are permitted, including under a jacket. For children and pony riders the shirt must be fully white there. In dressage, the FEI rules set no requirement for the shirt: article 431 prescribes only a white or off-white stock or tie. The Belgian rules are stricter on that point and do require a white shirt, and without a jacket sleeves that cover at least the shoulders. Rules differ by federation, discipline, level and country and change regularly: check the current rules of your own federation before you start.

The colour choice therefore has consequences. White fits the classes in which a white shirt or a white collar is required. Navy and black do not belong in the arena in Belgian dressage and stay limited, in showjumping, to classes in which only the collar has to be white. On top of that, navy and black each come in a single size, and a white top is sensitive to sand, make-up and grooming marks. Because the manufacturer does not document the sleeve length, you cannot check in advance whether the model fits a class in which white cuffs are required; check that on the shirt itself.
