Horseware Amigo Bravo 12 Plus Turnout Rug

The fill you need depends on your horse: coat, whether he is clipped, breed and the weather. The 400 g version is intended for cold weather and for horses that are clipped or feel the cold quickly. The 0 g version keeps your pony dry without making him warmer, so it mainly suits a pony with a normal coat on wet days.

When it gets colder, you can attach a Horseware liner under the 0 g version instead of buying a heavier rug straight away. Horseware does not list leg straps or a tail flap for this model; the rug stays in place with three cross surcingles and a tail cord. The first time you use it, check that the neck cover fits well and the shoulders stay free.

Choose the Amigo Bravo 12 Plus Turnout if you want a turnout rug with a neck cover in a sturdy 1200D outer fabric. The Storm Green version with 400 g suits a horse that lives out in winter. The Navy/Silver version with 0 g is a rain sheet with neck cover for ponies.

If you need a different size, colour or an in-between fill, look at the Horseware Amigo 1200D Plus Turnout, with the same 1200D outer fabric, in 0 g, 50 g or 100 g and in sizes from 125 to 155. Place the rug over the back and fasten the V-Front closure first. Then do up the three cross surcingles under the belly, leaving a hand's width of room, and place the tail cord under the tail. Attach the neck cover to the hood loops. Machine wash at 30 °C with all Velcro closed and straps fastened, line dry and do not use bleach, a tumble dryer or an iron.

Which fill should I choose: 0 g or 400 g?
The 0 g version is a rain sheet with no fill. The 400 g version is filled for cold weather. Take into account your horse's coat, whether he is clipped and how quickly he feels the cold.

Is the neck cover filled as well?
On the 400 g version, yes: Horseware uses fiberfill in the rug and in the neck cover. The 0 g version has no fill.

Are 100/150/5.0 and 110/160/5.3 pony sizes?
Yes. Horseware also makes the Bravo 12 Plus in pony sizes. At Maddelin these sizes are available in Navy/Silver with 0 g.

Can I attach a liner underneath?
Yes. The rug has liner loops and is compatible with Horseware liners, which are sold separately.

Does the rug have leg straps?
Horseware does not list leg straps for this model. The rug stays in place with three cross surcingles and a tail cord.

How do I wash the rug?
In the machine at 30 °C, after closing all Velcro and fastening straps and clips. Line dry it, without bleach, tumble dryer or iron. Horseware recommends professional cleaning.
